An excellent posting on a forum I frequent, illustrating the famous quotation (attribution much disputed) about the UK & USA being ‘divided by a common language’:

“A colleague of mine was put in isolation for 6 hours. When arriving in the states he had a cold and was looking a bit white and spiteful and sniffing. When the immigration officer asked him what was wrong, he said he had “Man Flu”. Within 90 seconds he was whisked off by 2 security guards who locked him in an isolation room until he was able to explain what “Man Flu” was.”
