Just received an email in response to one I’d sent following up an earlier missive to which I’d received no response:

“Your query of 12.11.13 is currently with our xxxx licensing team who will contact you in due course if they deem it appropriate.”

‘…if they deem it appropriate’, eh? Well, that’s me put in me place!

I thought phrases like ‘deem it appropriate’ went out with groats and firkins of ale. Apparently not.
